The design of these earrings draws inspiration from the early summer mornings in Provence, southern France in the 1980s—when sunlight filters through the mist, falling on the weathered brass square mirror on the windowsill, whose surface reflects the wind-kissed cloud shadows, glowing with the soft luster of mother-of-pearl.
The designer chose a rounded square silhouette to symbolize the calm attitude of "square yet not sharp, round yet not slippery" in life, much like the philosophy of a mature woman: possessing both distinct edges of self and a gentle, inclusive core. The brushed silver center mimics the natural texture of mother-of-pearl, flowing with delicate light under illumination, resembling a pearl shrouded in morning mist—low-key yet inherently radiant. The outer gold-plated frame, like the outline of that old brass mirror, gently encloses the soft silver surface, creating a two-tone gold and silver visual layer that is both retro and modern.
