DESIGN INSPIRATION
Inspired by the beauty of the incomplete.
This ring begins with a single question: what if a circle were allowed to breathe? The open band refuses closure, leaving a quiet gap that lets the metal move, flex, and adapt — a form that follows the hand rather than dictating to it.
The brushed surface is drawn from silk and from stone worn smooth by time. Fine, directional brushing scatters the light instead of reflecting it, giving the gold a soft, low-lustre warmth — matte, never flat; understated, never dull.
The cutout is the soul of the piece. Deliberately irregular, it echoes a moon mid-phase, a window cut through an old wall, a pebble hollowed by the sea. It is intentionally imperfect, because perfection is forgettable.
The polished rim around the opening is the final gesture — a bright, mirror-fine edge that catches the light against the matté field. A study in contrast: light and shadow, raw and refined, presence and absence.
THE STORY
She found the shape on a winter morning, on a stretch of coast where the rocks had been hollowed by centuries of tide. Not destroyed — opened. The sea had taken exactly what it needed and left the stone more itself than before.
That memory became this ring.
A wide band of sterling silver, brushed until it feels like fabric, then bathed in gold. An opening left unclosed, so the ring can breathe on the finger — and so can the woman who wears it. At its centre, a circle that is not quite a circle: a reminder that a life need not be seamless to be whole.
